10mm Ammunition

The 10mm is a modern pistol cartridge designed to be more powerful than the 9mm, and lends itself quite well to handgun hunting. Although respected for its power, the 10mm never garnered the level of mainstream acceptance that the .40 S&W did. Originating in Sweden, it has better stopping power than the 9mm, and better trajectory and range than the .45 ACP. With full power loads, the 10mm cartridge can be used for deer, bear, and even boar. The 10mm does have a reputation for possibly battering guns, though, since there is so much barrel pressure. As often happens, modern trends are influenced by the movies. The 10mm round rose in popularity when "Sonny Crockett" was seen using a 10mm Bren Ten pistol on TV's popular "Miami Vice". Pistols chambered in 10mm tend to have a niche market, and ammunition tends to be more expensive and harder to find than the common .40 S&W. In fact, at the time of this writing, the price of factory loaded 10mm ammo can go as high as $37.00 for 25 rounds. 10mm rounds have a muzzle velocity of 1,300 ft / sec to 1,600 ft / sec, and an impact energy of 728 ft lbs to 767 ft lbs.

Winchester Ammunition

Winchester is an American icon. Like baseball and apple pie, Winchester helped define this country. Winchester is responsible for "the gun that won the West", and today is the same company that still supplies hunters and shooters with some of the very best ammunition in the world. In 1980, Winchester's subsidiary, Olin, was restructured to focus solely on the production of ammunition. In 1991, with the onset of the Persian Gulf War, Winchester provided a large amount of the ammunition used by our troops. So, you know that if our brave men and women in uniform trust Winchester ammunition
when lives are on the line, you can certainly trust it to function properly in your gun at the range or in the tree stand.  When you need American quality and dependability, you need Winchester ammunition.

Remington Ammunition

When you pull the trigger with a Remington round in the chamber, you're enjoying the result of almost two centuries of research and innovation. Remington is some of the most reliable production ammunition you can find on the market. Remington cartridges are assembled from superior components with fastidious quality control and rigorous testing to ensure excellent levels of reliability and accuracy.
Remington Arms was founded by Eli Remington in 1816, in up-state New York. Eli Remington believed that he could build a better gun than he could buy, and so he expanded his father's blacksmith business to include rifle barrel production. Today, Remington Arms and Ammunition is the only company that produces both firearms and ammunition domestically. Remington is also the largest producer of shotguns and rifles in the United States.

When you choose Remington ammunition, you are choosing 192 years of American ingenuity and experience. Remington won't let you down.

PMC Ammunition

PMC ammunition stands for "Precision Made Cartridges". The ammo itself is made in South Korea, South Africa, and Boulder City, Nevada. PMC ammunition is not match grade ammo, but it is reliable at the range. It is also less expensive than other brands of ammo out there. For the money, PMC ammunition is decent
and will get the job done. There is one caveat though; often shooters who reload their rounds don't care for PMC ammunition because they use an alloy case instead of a brass one, and some reloaders have mentioned that the primer holes in the casings were ever so slightly varied from one round to the next.

All in all, though, PMC ammunition is inexpensive, plentiful, and reliable. It just isn't match grade. Then again, it costs nowhere near as much as match grade either. A good value for the money: PMC ammunition.

Magsafe Ammunition

The now-famous Strasbourg Tests put MagSafe on the map.  To summarize, over 600 live French Alpine goats were shot under controlled conditions: no anesthetic, same shot placement from animal to animal, and with blood pressure and heart rate monitors to determine the Incapacitation Time (a measure of how long it took a goat to cease functioning after the single shot was delivered).

MagSafe Ammo worked - better than anything else. Tests were done without MagSafe's knowledge, so some versions tested were the lowest powered. For example, two types of .380 ACP are offered; the .380 Defender, a 60-grainer at 1,360 fps in a Colt Mustang; and the .380 MAX with a 52-grain slug sizzling along at 1,620 fps in the Mustang.

MagSafe Ammunition

The Defender has 247 ft-Ibs of energy, while the MAX load has 303 ft-Ibs. The Defender's lower velocity hampered stopping power, resulting in an Average Incapacitation Time (AIT) of 7.12 seconds. That's the average time for five different goats, each shot once with the MagSafe 60-grain Defender.

However - and this is where things get interesting - there wasn't a jacketed hollowpoint bullet in ANY caliber that dropped the goats faster than MagSafe's weakest .380 load! MagSafe's .380 beat every .45 ACP slug, every 10mm, every 9mm (including police-only ammo), every .40 caliber - no matter who made it - Cor-Bon, Remington, Glaser and HydraShok. In fact, MagSafe's lowest-powered .380 ACP load had an AIT faster than the best manstopper of all time - Remington's .357 Magnum 125-grain JHP!

MagSafe Ammo is faster, recoils less, and stops attackers faster than any other ammunition in the world. Elite forces worlwide are outfitted with MagSafe, from Navy SEALS to the Royal Hong Kong Police. The reason is simple, MagSafe works. It's expensive, but it works.

The question is this: Just how much is your life worth?

Hornady Ammunition

When it comes to high-end match grade ammunition, Hornady is hard to beat. "Ten bullets through one hole." That was the philosophy of Joyce Hornady, the company's founder, and an Army veteran who was dissatisfied with the surplus ammo available for hunters and shooters after the Korean War. His solution? Make a new kind of bullet. Hornady's life long passion for shooting led to a product that has raised the bar and changed the industry for the better. He wasn't satisfied with the status quo. He knew he could do better, and he did!

That commitment to accuracy and perfection runs throughout the company to this day, as the Hornady plant has some of the highest quality control
criteria in the industry.  Today, Hornady Ammunition is headquartered in Nebraska, where each batch of bullets is tested at Hornady's 200 yard underground range facility, which allows for testing in a controlled environment, unaffected by weather.

In shooting circles, the Hornady name is synonymous with quality. Hornady makes ammunition for rifles, handguns, and shotguns. Hornady's motto says it all: "Accurate. Deadly. Dependable."

Extreme Shock Ammunition

Extreme Shock ammunition was developed in response to America's need to combat terror and evil in an increasingly uncertain world. The war on terror is a new kind of war, and Extreme Shock ammo is a new kind of round. With over ten years in co-development with Special Operations military and Federal Law Enforcement, the new Extreme Shock Explosive Entry round is the pinnacle of lethality in defensive cartridges. The key to Extreme Shock ammo is its frangibility. Upon impact, the compressed tungsten-nytrillium composite fragments, creating a wound channel orders of magnitude bigger than the bullet. Extreme Shock ammo
transfers its energy into the target dramatically faster than regular hollow point ammo, with devastating effect.
The risk of over-penatration is minimized with Extreme Shock. Since the round essentially disintegrates upon impact, there is less tendency for it to go through walls, airplane fuselages, etc. Also, the risk to EMS and medical personnel is minimized, since there are no sharp edged pieces of metal in the target, like with hollow points that rip and deform upon impact.

If you need incredible stopping power, and yet want a round that is safe to use in tactical situations, and particularily in urban environments with walls and other people, get the Extreme Shock. It is utterly devastating to the bad guys, yet there is no collateral damage to the good guys.

Glaser Ammunition

Glaser is an American ammunition company based in Sturgis, South Dakota. The company was founded by Armin Glaser in the same year the Glaser Safety Slug debuted. The company produces bullets from .25 to .45 for pistols and from .223 to .30-06 for rifles. Each caliber comes in two colors: blue and silver.

The concept behind Glaser is a frangible round that is much like a shot-shell contained in a high-tech polymer. Upon impact with a soft tissue, the shotshell explodes, releasing its payload of either no. 6 shot (silver, with more penetrating power), or n. 12 shot (blue). On impact, the bullet fractures along manufactured stress lines in the jacket, dumping all of the bullet's energy into the target very quickly, rather than over-penetrating.

If you are shooting Glasers and you miss the target and hit a wall, the round won't penetrate. In fact, for that reason, the .357 Sig Glaser is the choice of the Federal Air Marshals, who must carry their Sig Sauer 229's onboard planes to protect us against terrorists and hijackers. Airplane cabins are pressurized, and the Glaser safety slug can take out a terrorist, but not punch a hole in the airplane.

Glaser is a high quality, technologically advanced bullet suitable for law enforcement. If you find yourself in dire circumstances, you'll be glad you have Glasers in your mag.
